Curious sits underground on Flinders Lane, beneath W Melbourne. Guests step behind the velvet curtain, take the spiral staircase down, and arrive in a room lined with timber beams that won Best Ceiling in the World at the 2022 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.
That reaction at the door is the part a set menu cannot buy. It happens before the first drink is poured, and it happens to every guest who walks in.

The three things organisers ask first
No. Group bookings are a reserved booth or a dedicated section, agreed before the night. If you would rather not share the room at all, exclusive hire gives you all of it, up to 120 standing guests.
The room shifts through the evening. Early is conversational. DJs start at 6pm Wednesday to Friday and 7pm on Saturday, so the energy builds as the night goes on. On an exclusive booking you set the music yourself.
It depends on your date, the size of your group, and how much of the venue you take. Send those three details through and we will come back with costs and availability in writing.
Turn it up
Curious runs live DJ programming from 6pm Wednesday to Friday and from 7pm on Saturday. For a private booking you can bring your own playlist, work with the in-house music curator, or keep the resident DJ exactly as they are.
For larger events, our AV partners can provide lighting and sound to match the room.
Made for you
The cocktail menu is seasonal and rotates through the year, built around texture, aroma, flavour and illusion. For a birthday you can go further than the menu: custom cocktails created for your group, non alcoholic options given the same attention, a bespoke cake, and florals chosen to match.

Curious sits beneath W Melbourne. Guests who would rather not travel home can stay upstairs, and groups booking 10 rooms or more can request discounted rates.
